Garrard County Sheriff's Office Investigates Bomb Threat To Courthouse & Judicial Center

The Garrard County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) has officially declared a recent threat targeting the County Judicial Center and Courthouse as non-credible, following a thorough investigation. 

The initial alert, received on the afternoon of Thursday, January 4, prompted an immediate response from local law enforcement.

Upon receiving the threat, the GCSO, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies, initiated a comprehensive investigation. This coordinated effort included the expertise of the Eastern Kentucky University Police K-9 Division, Madison County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division, and the Kentucky State Police. 

The involvement of these specialized units underscores the seriousness with which the threat was regarded and the commitment to ensuring public safety.

The investigation, characterized by meticulous examination and assessment, led to the determination that the threat posed no real danger to the community. 

As a result, the GCSO has reopened county offices, and both court and county business operations have resumed without further disruption.
