81st District Governor’s Cup

The 81st District Governor’s Cup Competition for Elementary Schools, hosted by Lancaster Elementary, was held at the school on Saturday, February 27th. Students from Camp Dick Robinson Elementary, Lancaster Elementary, Paint Lick Elementary, and Crab Orchard Elementary participated in the event. This years Governor’s Cup was hosted by Lancaster Elementary. The overall winner was Camp Dick Robinson Elementary and the runner – up was Crab Orchard Elementary. Students from each school won various awards in different subject matters. Congratulations to all of the students who participated in this prestigious event that is held each year.

The winners for this year’s competition are: Math Assessment ( Elwood East – 1st place (CDR), Cameron Carver – 2nd place (CDR), Nicholas Lark – 3rd place (CDR), Brooklyn Smith – 4th place (CDR), Sam Durham – 5th place (Crab Orchard Elementary). Science Assessment (Shea Davis – 1st place (LES), Cameron Carver – 2nd place (CDR), Grace Bowman – 3rd place(LES), Chance Naylor – 4th place(CDR), Caleb Abshear – 5th place(Crab Orchard), Haven Hester – 5th place(LES). Written Composition (Emiley Simpson(Crab Orchard), Jaydan Norris – 2nd place (CDR), Skylar Molen – 2nd place (PLE), Emily Miller- 4th place (PLE), Elle Montgomery – 5th place (CDR). Social Studies Assessment (Steven Browning – 1st place (PLE), Elwood East – 2nd place (CDR), Chance Naylor – 3rd place tie (CDR), Benton McKnight – 4th place (Crab Orchard), Brooklyn Smith – 5th place (Crab Orchard). Language Arts Assessment (Grace Preston – 1st place(CDR), Seth Gilliam – 1st place tie (Crab Orchard), Kennedy Morgan – 3rd place(CDR), Mary Katherine Oberman – 4th place(CDR), and Jacob Smith – 5th place (Crab Orchard Elementary). Arts and Humanities Assessment –(Savannah Dodson – 1st place(CDR), Shea Davis – 2nd place (LES), Tristen Brothers – 2nd place tie (Crab Orchard), Shelby Creech – 4th place (Crab Orchard), Emalee Young – 5th place (LES), Blake Foster – 5th place tie (PLE). Future Problem Solving Team (Camp Dick Robinson Elementary 1st place, and Paint Lick Elementary – 2nd place). Quick Recall Team (Camp Dick Robinson – 1st place, and Crab Orchard Elementary – 2nd place). All of the district winners will compete in the Regional Competition.
