The DAV Supper will be held October 9th at 6:30 p.m. at the DAV Building. This will be a fish fry supper. All members come out and bring 2 or 3 of your favorite dishes to go with our fish dinner.

4th Annual Harvest Festival
Spring Garden Place will host its 4th Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 10th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. There will be gospel music from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and “Red House” a country band will perform from 1:30 - 4 p.m. There will also be homespun crafts, tobacco stick art, candles, pumpkins, fodder, food and more. Bring the kids and play on the hay mountain and corn box and more. We have something for everyone. Ham And Egg Breakfast
Lancaster Lodge No. 104 F. and A. M., located at 436 Industry Road, will sponsor a ham and egg breakfast on Saturday, October 10, 2009. The breakfast will be served to the public from 7:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M., and donations will be received at the door. Proceeds from the breakfast go to support projects of the Lodge, one of which is to give a scholarship to a graduating senior of Garrard County High School. Ron Ledford, Master of Lancaster Lodge, invites everyone to bring a friend and enjoy a hearty breakfast that has come to be known as “one of the best in Central Kentucky.” Ron says, “Tell a neighbor; bring a friend.”
October 10: Paint Lick Village Fest & Sportsman's Club Fish Fry: 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Held on the grounds of the Paint Lick Sportsman's Club, enjoy the festivities of Paint Lick at its annual Village Fest free of charge. Vendors are encouraged to set-up their trade or craft or yard sale booths between 8 - 9:30 a.m. No reservations required; however, all booth spaces on the grounds of the Paint Lick Sportsman's Club are on a first-come-first serve basis. Enjoy a hearty lunch of soup beans, corn bread, hot dogs, soda, and desserts in the clubhouse beginning at 11 a.m. (Coffee will be available earlier and throughout the day). Friends also will have a fundraiser raffle inside the clubhouse and a yard-sale booth on the grounds. Live music will be performed throughout the day, including open-mic sessions. Activities will be provided for the kids, too. Starting at 4 p.m., members of the Paint Lick Sportsman's Club will serve its traditional fish fry. Dinners will include all-you-can eat cornmeal breaded & fried perch, potato wedges, hush puppies, PLSC coleslaw, choice of dessert and drink. Tickets for the fish fry can be purchased in advance for only $5 from First Southern National Bank of Paint Lick or at the door for $6.50. This is a rain or shine event. Homecoming At Hyattsville Baptist Church

Retired Teachers Meeting
The Garrard County Retired Teachers will be meeting on Thursday, October 15th at 11:30 a.m. at the Country Diner. This will be one of the last two meetings of the calendar year, and it is very important that all educators attend. There will be information from the state workshop that was held at Natural Bridge in August. Local dues for 2009 can still be paid, even if you are not a state member, by mailing $6.00 to Frances Ruble or Sharon Hamilton. They will help our local organization complete some of the projects for the year.

Bake Sale
St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church, 406 S. Buckeye Vol. Fire Dept. Fish Fry
The Buckeye Volunteer Fire Department will have a fish fry on October 17 from 3:00-8:00pm. It’s $7.00 for adults. Ten and under are free. Volunteers For Commodities Distribution Needed
The Blue Grass Community Action Partnership in Garrard County is in need of volunteers to assist with the distribution of commodities on the third Tuesday of each month. The truck arrives at 10:00 a.m. at the Disabled American Veterans’ building. We need assistance with unloading the truck, sorting the food and distribution. If you are interested in volunteering a few hours once a month, please contact Mosella Stump at 792-3422.

Body Recall, a program for a lifetime of fitness. Body Recall helps you regain mobility, strength, energy and flexibility. Body Recall is great for any age! The exercises are done in a chair and with a chair. Exercises are great for the heart patient, arthritic, strokes, diabetic, knees and hip replacements.

The Garrard County Family Resource and Youth Services Centers will once again coordinate the Christmas Assistance Program for Garrard County children ages 0-18 years of age. Upward Basketball And Cheerleading
Registration has begun for Upward basketball and cheerleading at Lancaster Baptist Church. Girls and boys ages 4 years old through the 8th grade can participate. Register before October 26th and save. Forms may be picked up at the church office between the hours of 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and between 1:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. Deadline for registration is November 6th.
