No Warnings Sounded
An investigation into the nature of the storm that ripped through parts of Garrard County Friday evening before wreaking havoc in Madison and winding down in Estill has been officially determined to have formed in Garrard County without any forewarning.

Those concerned with the location of the proposed stockyards on US 27 just south of town held a fact-finding meeting Wednesday evening to gather information about the possible impact the potential business may have on property, the environment and homes in the area.


National Nursing Home Week
National Nursing Home Week was celebrated at the Christian Care Center of Lancaster starting on Mother’s Day, May 10, and May 16.
Garrard County Judge Executive John Wilson signed a proclamation on Monday urging all members of the community to join in this year’s National Nursing Home Week observance by visiting the town’s nursing home residents and by recognizing the high quality of care that a long term care facility provides.

Interim Administrator Roger A. Parker and many other staff members were on hand for the signing and luncheon Monday afternoon.
This year’s theme for National Nursing Home Week is “Making a Difference in the Lives of Others.”

Nathan Mick will be giving a photo presentation of his Rotary International five week experience in India and Nepal at the First Southern Community Room on Monday, 18 May at 6:30PM.
He plans to use photos to cover topics like: India/Pakistan relations; Marriage in India; Religions Death in India; Food and Spices; Cost of Living; and answer any questions he can. Everyone interested is invited to attend.
